Getting Into Supervillain Shape
Let's face it, many people want to look their best, but sometimes, they want to go above & beyond and look better than everyone in their gym. There's nothing wrong with that mindset (sometimes I have it); however, you have to train smart before you start lifting heavy. Not only do I share this in my programs, but it's a crucial fact that many people tend to forget. With the new Black Adam movie coming out, I think it's safe to say Dwayne The Rock Johnson is in the best shape of his life. To obtain that physique, it takes a solid training routine. However, as a Fitness Influencer, I love to give my clients and followers the best! In other words, I want to share with you how to get The Black Adam Physique!
Black Adam Workout Routine (4-6 Weeks)
Workout A (Push Day)
- Incline Barbell Bench Press: 3 sets x 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 reps (Reverse Pyramid Training) (3 min. Rest)
- Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 3 sets x 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 reps (Reverse Pyramid Training) (3 min. Rest)
- Weighted Dips: 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Hypertrophy Training)
- Seated Dumbbell Tricep Extension: 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Hypertrophy Training)
- Tricep Pushdown & Arnold Press (Superset): 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy Training) (60 sec. Rest)
- Flat Barbell Bench Press: 10 sets x 10 reps (German Volume Training) (60-90 sec. Rest)
Workout B (Leg Day)
- Sumo Deadlifts: 3 sets x 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 reps (Reverse Pyramid Training)
- Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squats: 3 sets x 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 reps (Reverse Pyramid Training)
- Reverse Dumbbell Lunges: 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Hypertrophy Training)
- Barbell Hip Thrust: 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Hypertrophy Training)
- Leg Press & Calf Raises (Superset): 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy Training) (60 sec. Rest)
- Barbell, Dumbbell, or Trap Bar Shrugs: 4 sets x 6-10 reps (Rest-Pause Training) (10-15 sec. Rest)
Workout C (Pull Day)
- Weighted Pull-Ups: 3 sets x 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 reps (Reverse Pyramid Training)
- Barbell Curls: 3 sets x 4-6, 6-8, and 8-10 reps (Reverse Pyramid Training)
- Reverse EZ Bar or Dumbbell Curls: 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Hypertrophy Training)
- Weighted Sternum Pull Ups: 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Hypertrophy Training)
- Lat Pull Down & Cable Rows (Superset): 3 sets x 10-12 reps (Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy Training) (60 sec. Rest)
- Zottman Curls: 4 sets x 15, 12, 10, and 8 reps (Reverse Drop Set/UPSET Training)
- Reverse Pyramid Training: Begin with your heaviest set. Once you hit the rep range within the first set, reduce the weight by 15lbs-20lbs while resting for three minutes. Perform the same process for sets two and three.
- Hypertrophy Training: Increase the weight per set by 2.5lbs, 5lbs, or 10lbs per set while resting for two minutes.
- Rest-Pause Training: Use the same weight throughout the exercise and rest for 10-15 seconds
- German Volume Training: Perform ten sets of 10 reps while resting for 60-90 seconds. Keep the weight the same throughout the exercise.
- Reverse Drop Set Training/UPSET Training: Reduce the reps while increasing the weight per set. No rest is required. Go straight onto your next set when you complete the previous one.
How Effective is the Black Adam Routine?
Not only is this routine extremely effective; however, one of the things you need is a weighted belt. Without it, the weighted pull-ups, dips, and sternum pull-ups will be nearly impossible to complete. In other words, doing it with a dumbbell between your legs will be incredibly uncomfortable. Furthermore, not many gyms provide or have weighted belts. If they do, it's either being used or containing a metal chain, making it remarkably uncomfortable for the user.
